Camping on Vancouver Island

Went to Tofino this weekend to do some camping.

We went out to do some kayaking with paddle west. Saw some really old trees. They estimate the 'hanging garden' tree to be 1600 years old. That's old.

Other highlights include:
Getting withing 5 feet of a seal
Missing the Horseshoe Bay ferry madness by one day
Our fearless driver was pulled over for speeding, but we only got a warning
My friend ran over my guitar, and broke the headstock in two
Visited Cathedral Grove with more big trees
The guys in the campsite beside us were kicked out for boisterous conduct
No bears ate our stuff
Miles of beach, tons of sealife at low tide
Campfire, food and drinks

I'll hopefully have some pics soon. Unfortuately my bike didn't fit in the car, so I was out of luck wrt biking.

Your guitar is busted now? Bummer man... At least it wasn't your Les Paul, or I'd be giving my condolences to the next of kin of the poor driver... haha

Bummer about not having the bike... I nearly hit a deer on mine last week. The trails were fast and apparently my buddy and I caught some deer off guard. Nasty spills ensued...

Yeh, I'm trying to tell Marcel that he doesn't have to pay me back for the guitar, but he wants to give me some money to buy a new one.

I went biking up in Skookum Flats this past weekend. No deer though :)

See my spaces account for the details!

How do I get to your "My Spaces" page? I don't see a link...

Went on a faster XC trail yesterday up in the Gatineaus. Went completely over my handlebars while still attached to my bike and crashed down a steep gravel slope for the first time this year. I'm in pretty rough shape today, but it was a great 2 hour ride. Still getting used to these clipless pedals. And those freakin' Hayes Hydros man, I swear the front ones are out to get me. Haha =)
