Ski trip could have gone better
Shawn and I invited a few friends over for drinks last night so, we didn't get to sleep until 2:30. Given we the powder forecast we decided to bite the bullet and get up at 6:30 to go to Crystal Mt anyway.
The pass was icy, bad enough that I had to push the car along the road to get it moving. We did get there at a reasonable hour though and had a really good run (yup, one good run). The rest of the day kinda went downhill (and not in the downhill skiing kind of downhill).
On the second run Shawn plowed into a wind lip that had built up and twisted his knee (heard a pop etc...). After the ski patrol arived, pulled him down, got his leg in a splint, we determined it was time to end the day. On our way back we figured "Hey, our luck is going well" so we went to the casino and bet on black (because I've heard that you just can't lose in this manner). Turns out you can lose on black as well: Who knew.
Eventually we ended up at the hospital, and after multiple hours Shawn now has a much nicer splint, and no real better understanding of the injury. The doctor is pretty sure it is not an ACL tear which is what we were really worried about.
Anyhow, I'm off to pick Henry up at the airport. Until next time!
