Christmas in SSM and New Years in Vancouver

So, a lot has happened since the last post.  Wind storms in Vancouver pummeled Stanley Park, more power outages and flooding are felt back in Seattle...  Meanwhile I flew back to Sault Ste. Marie for Christmas, then went back to Vancouver, and spent New Years day in Whistler (which was amazing).

Christmas back home is always a great time, and as always I ate too much food, and played too much XBox, but it's all good.  This year was a bit weird because there was no snow at all, but all my brothers made it back so it was all good.  I never get to see enough of my family, so I'm really glad we had the chance to play XBox, figure out 'Set', go to the gym, try to find gifts, play poker, and just plain ol' hang out together.

We managed to get a family photo at some point during the holiday:IMG_2827.JPG

From left to right that's Mike, Dad, Jamie, Mom, Myself, Adam, Nathan and Steve.  The dog is Missy.

Then coming back from Sault Ste. Marie to Vancouver I got to spend some time with Cheryl.  We watched The Pursuit of Happiness when we found out we couldn't watch the Wawa-focused Snow Cake because it was already out of the Vancouver theaters...  Anyhow, at some point we opened gifts.  Cheryl made me a really amazing tab compilation filled with all the songs that Shawn and I typically dig for online among other cool gifts.  Cheryl opened her new Phat Luv skis and immediately fell in love.

Cheryl loving her new skis already.

Later on in the week we decided to go hang out in Stanley Park to see the devastation brought on by the recent wind storms.  It was incredible.  In some parts of the park there were more trees down than standing, and the size of some of the trees that were down was incredible.

The picture below is an example of one of the fallen trees we walked by...

There was ample devastation to observe in Stanley Park...  IMG_2896.JPG

There's a lot more going on, but it's time to get some sleep.  Check out all the new photos I uploaded from the holiday.
