Our first hike with Kayla

It has been a few weeks since the last post, but Cheryl has been keeping everyone in the loop in the meantime by posting to her blog on a fairly regular basis. Since the last post Henry and Trang babysat, we had everyone over for Cheryl’s birthday (at which point our good friends Stefan, Taleen, Charlotte, Andrea and Dana all came down from Vancouver to visit with us), we also celebrated Kayla’s first Easter! Becky and her sister-in-law Katie joined us, and we invited some friends over for some sweet sweet turkey.

But yesterday marked another first for Kayla as Cheryl and I made the trek out to Rattlesnake Lake to bring Kayla on her first hike. We brought both the stroller and the baby bjorn not knowing how far we’d get. It was a beautiful sunny day, and there were many out to celebrate it. We started with the stroller on the gravel walking path around the lake, and sat down to take a few pictures. We put Kayla into the baby bjorn, but the wind was pretty wild, so that didn’t last too long. So, instead of hiking up the Rattlesnake Ledge trail, we went for a more causal stroll around the lake. Cheryl and I hadn’t actually walked this part of the trail before, so it was new to all three of us!

Anyhow, here are a few pics from our day:
