Last shore ride this year?

Made it out to the North Shore for one last ride in the nice weather. There's a chance we can sneak a few more rides in before Whistler opens end of November, but it's not too likely.

I had my first wipeout of the day in the first 30 seconds of the ride. Went over the handlebars and flew a pretty good distance... Guess I should have brought my gloves for better grip. Nothing too bad, but I did bruise my knee on the handlebars as I flew over the bike :)

Played a poker game and actually won money this time. $25 or so.

Meanwhile in Seattle my friend Dan broke his collar bone on a bike wipeout. He was in the hospital earlier this week, and should be back in action in a few weeks.

On a side note I sent mail to Kyle who I haven't seen in a very long time. Apparently he's in Vancouver right now. It would be good to hook up with him.

Wawa!

Canadian Thanksgiving was last weekend so I went to visit the family in Sault Ste. Marie. While I was there I had a chance to go drive up to Wawa and visit some of the teachers I had when I was in High School.



Things we did:
1) Visited teachers, aunts, uncles in Wawa
2) Watched large waves on Lake Superior
3) Sat on HWY 17 for 3.5 hours due to an accident ahead of us
4) Played balderdash
5) Hit range balls
6) Ate turkey (cooked in the microwave because the oven broke)
7) Ran into the Kirbys at the local coffee house
8) Went mountain biking
9) Went hiking
10) Played a ton of guitar
11) Presented to Grade 7/8 students for an entire afternoon

Sea-Tac rain/hail

So I wanted to go biking at Sea Tac again this weekend (well, really I wanted to go to whistler, but it was raining, so I didn't think it would be worth the drive). It was threatening rain, but I didn't realize it was going to hail, lightning and flood like it did on the I-5.


Anyhow, the rain stopped as suddenly as it came and I actually ended up with some good riding at Sea Tac.
